About the Home

Centrally located in Sandy City, The Milestone Home is a masterfully renovated residence that highlights the power of community collaboration in addressing youth homelessness. Owned by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and master-leased to Salt Lake County Youth Services, this house is a vital part of the Milestone Transitional Living Program. Since its inception, the program has served over 350 young adults ages 18-21 experiencing homelessness, with 96% of participants exiting successfully into stable housing while remaining employed and/or enrolled in school.

Visitors will be welcomed by an airy main level with an open floor plan and expansive windows that flood the interior with natural light. At the heart of the home is a custom-designed kitchen, specifically crafted to foster connection through cooking groups and life-skills training. The lower level serves as a quiet, intimate retreat, offering three bedrooms and a cozy gathering nook designed for comfort and privacy. Completing the property is a beautiful, sustainable landscape of native, water-wise plants. More than just a house, this project represents a significant "Milestone" for its residents, offering a productive and inviting environment where they can pursue their goals with dignity.
